Do you know a teen who could make a difference and just hasn’t found the right program yet? Are you a teen who is looking for a challenge? Make a difference in your future and the future of your community! Two opportunities are waiting teens in Calgary and area. Read on for information about the Suncor Youth Advsiors and the 3rd annual Beauty and Brains conference.
Join Suncor Youth Advisors:
Youth aged 14 to 17 are invited to be a Suncor Youth Advisor. Contribute innovative ideas that will inspire and engage other youth in our exhisting and eventually new science centre set to open in 2011. Whether your interests lie in sports, movies, fashion, politics, art or science, this group is for you! Participants will accumulate volunteer hours while developing leadership skills and planning all aspects of a HUGE event for other youth.

3rd Annual Beauty and Brains Conference
A FREE conference for young women in junior and senior high! Illuminating alternative career paths for young women aged 12 to 17 by uniting them with successful professional women in non-traditional careers including science, engineering, business and technology. Join us on Sat. October 24, 2009 for this FREE conference that will be sure to enlighten and inspire young women about the opportunities in unique and innovative careers. During fun-filled workshops with some of the most successful women in our community, participants will not only gain career options but will gain confidence and connections.

Join us November 28 & 29 from 11am-4pm for the
Bear Necessities Art Sale Fundraiser
to support 4 orphaned bear cubs and 2 orphaned lynx kittens plus other wildlife.
A variety of art from sculpure and paintings to jewlery and furniture will be showcased.
This family event includes tours throughout the day of the facility and resident wildlife. A recommended $10 per person donation is encouraged.
