As you may have heard in the media, the Alberta government is planning on cutting even more fine arts programs (visual art, drama, muisc and dance) from the school curriculum.  A smple and effective way to show your concern is by filling out this brief online survey through SOFA (Save Our Fine Arts):  http://saveourfinearts.ca/ I will also be attending an Arts Education forum this Wednesday and will report back to SERG members at our meeting on November 19. Help save fine arts in our schools! Important Meeting – Monday, December 14th
Make sure to attend a SOFA meeting on Monday, December 14th, 2009 from 7:30 p.m. to approximately 9:00 p.m. in the Music Room at William Aberhart High School, which is located at 3009 Morley Trail N.W. in Calgary.
This will be a great opportunity for you to learn more about the proposed changes, hear about a meeting recently held with a number of senior officials at Alberta Learning, and why/how you should get involved.
