The change is based upon a pivotal opportunity to bring in three internationally renowned exhibitions, back-to-back to Calgary over the next 18 months. Without another content-related facility in the City of Calgary with the ability to host the size and caliber of exhibitions that we are bringing in, we are committed to bringing Calgarians, Southern Albertans and tourists the caliber of content and experience that they deserve and we are committed to provide a marvelous preview of what the new science centre is going to be like. As we prepare to move into our new facility in 2011, these exhibitions allow us to expand our reach and advance our mandate of public engagement in science in a very exciting and educational way. Our goal is to provide great experiences for all of our visitors, and with this new exhibition strategy, better serve not only the families and school groups of our current audience, but branch out to teens and adults as well. The Creative Kids Museum will remain open to offer opportunities and public programs for families with young children including the phenomenal LEGO exhibit “Wheels, Wings and Waves” to open May 15th.
