Museum and Site Tour and Indigenous Games (Grades 1-6)

This program includes a tour of the Interpretive Centre at the Fort Calgary National Historic Site and pairs perfectly with any other program to create a full day of fun and learning at Fort Calgary! Our program facilitators customize site tours to align with the curriculum for each grade and focus on relevant themes and open-ended inquiry questions to inspire critical thinking and learning.

If weather allows, students will venture outside to experience the natural parkland at the confluence of the Bow and Elbow rivers and Marking, the art installation outlining the original footprint of the 1875 North West Mounted Police fort. Next, students will stretch their bodies and minds with Indigenous games that have been played for generations and encourage cooperation, concentration, strength, endurance and survival skills.
