YouthLink Calgary – The Calgary Police Interpretive Centre, an organization that empowers youth to make positive choices and stay safe www.youthlinkcalgary.com is accepting applications for three part time contract educational programming positions (weekdays – Mon-Thurs).
The primary function will be the delivery of the KIDO (Knowing the Issues – Discussing the Options) program to Grade 6 students. Training will be provided. Other duties include administrative support for the program and may also involve research around the social issues YouthLink Calgary addresses (Bullying, Gangs, Domestic Violence, Substance Abuse and Online Safety).
Successful applicants will have a relevant degree in education, social work or criminology. They will be self-starters having outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with experience doing presentations or delivering programs to children. Relevant research experience would be an asset.
These positions offer a very competitive hourly wage. The contract is from September 26th to December 21st but may very well be extended to June 22nd 2012. Please submit your resume with cover letter to POL11014@calgarypolice.ca by September 12th, 2011.
Fuzzy Friends is an engaging, hands-on program developed for children aged 3-5 to participate in with a parent, relative or caregiver. Each week features a new critter and includes stories, songs and crafts. Throughout the 10 week program children participate in several animal encounters.
When: Thursday Afternoons from 1-2PM starting Oct 6, 2011.
Where: The Calgary Humane Society Learning Center (4455 110th Ave SE, Calgary AB)
Cost: $9 per week or $75 for all 10 weeks!

Do you know anyone ages 8 – 12 who is animal crazy??? At the Calgary Humane Society, we offer an exciting and edu-taining option for kids who love animals! The Kids For Animals Club is the furr-pect place for your budding zoologist, future vet or critter enthusiast!
We meet once a month from September to June interacting with animals big and small! In the past, our activities have included nature hikes, trips to the zoo, crafts, games, grooming activities, choosing pets, and visiting speakers from other animal related organizations.
