About This Program
Go behind the scenes at Calgary Wildlife! Discover how our wildlife rehabilitation hospital cares for injured and orphaned wild animals, hear incredible patient stories and learn how we can better coexist with our wild neighbours.
What to Expect
This engaging, 60-minute presentation is delivered by a Calgary Wildlife educator at your school or organization. Participants will explore the world of wildlife rehabilitation through engaging visuals, real patient case studies, fascinating animal biofacts such as pelts and skulls, and behind-the-scenes stories from our wildlife rehabilitation hospital. The presentation includes opportunities for questions and discussion, practical guidance on what to do when encountering injured or orphaned wildlife, and ways to coexist with the wild animals that share our communities. A TV or projector with audio is required; if one is not available at your location, we can bring our own. Please note that this program does not include live animals.
Curriculum Connections
This presentation supports learning about biodiversity, ecosystems, human impacts on the environment, animal health and welfare, and responsible environmental stewardship. Through real wildlife rehabilitation case studies, students explore how human activities affect wild animals and consider practical ways to reduce human-wildlife conflict. Content can be adapted to suit different grade levels and adult audiences.
