About This Program
Uncover the interactions in our forest ecosystems through a variety of hands-on activities and games by exploring ecosystem relationships, forest succession, tree measurements, and soil sampling. Through this exploration of biotic and abiotic factors of the forest, students will consider how these factors interact, and the impacts of human use on the ecosystem.
What to Expect
The program begins in the staging area with a safety talk and introductions to the day. We will then set out on the forest paths to complete our activities, returning back to the staging area midday for lunch before heading back out to complete the remainder of our activities. Generally our forest walks are about 10-20 minutes each way on unpaved but easy terrain. We are able to accommodate up to 2 classes of 40 per program.
