About This Program

A day program that consists of a series of drama activities and games chosen for grades kindergarten to six that target the following specific classroom wellness impacts. Creative problem solving with space to make mistakes Relationship building with dignity Physical literacy through structured play

Our work in the school system and in our own drama camps tells us that our young people are still experiencing mental health and physical deficits because of the global health emergency of COVID-19. We have noticed in our practice, and teachers have noticed as well, a decrease in practical problem-solving skills, a decrease in relationship-building skills, and a lack of physical confidence and awareness in their bodies in relation to others. In collaboration with the Perlin Foundation for Wellbeing, Quest Theatre has developed and piloted a new program called Drama Day. The program consists of a series of drama activities and games chosen for grades kindergarten to six that target the following specific classroom wellness impacts. Creative problem solving with space to make mistakes Relationship building with dignity Physical literacy through structured play

What to Expect

An artist will come to your school and work with your classes focused on classroom wellness. One Drama Day artist can work with up to 5 classes in a day. Multiple days can be booked in a row to work with all of your classes. The artist will take them through a series of drama activities and games then finish off with a cool off and re-focusing excercise.
