About This Program

Investigating different human made and natural materials and learning what happens to materials when they are no longer being used.

Students will learn about the properties of different human made and natural materials and discover how different materials are suited for different purposes. Through hands on activities including a recycling relay, students learn how to properly dispose of materials while discovering the impact these items can have on the natural world. Programs are available for grades 2 and 4.

What to Expect

Students should come prepared to be outside for a full day with appropriate clothing for the conditions, lots of water and snacks. The program will take place on paved paths and non-paved, uneven terrain. Students should dress in layers and wear shoes for walking 5-7km on potentially muddy, uneven trails.
